My first paycheck

my first pay check had FIVE figures and ONE decimals in between. unfortunately i had to pay taxes. sadness.

CSM's final home football game

The Colorado School of mine's football team had its last home game on saturday. there were free subway sandwiches and an assortment of other good, palatable food during the tail-gate party.

The night Malaysia actually won

It was a starry night. And for once, surpassing all belief, the malaysian team actually won. against a frat team. miraculously. or that the team rested their best players. i dont really know, but the point was, it was almost as if Hafiz Hashim won the All england open again, and the country was ready to declare a national holiday. but then again, the insane amount of supporters and crude shouting in the malay language made me want to hide my face.

Dinner at Professor Nakagawa's place

Professor Nakagawa invited me to have dinner over at his place last sunday. The Japanese Space Research team was also there. There were also representatives from CSM. This was the group that was going to present at the Space Exploration seminar the day after. I am one of the group members of the Student Group designing the lunar rover.

hari raya

The Malaysian Muslims here at Colorado School of Mines decided to celebrate Hari Raya in their special kind of way. It was sort of a port luck gathering. The ones involved, mainly the freshmen girls and sarawakians minus myself, put in a huge ammount of effort in recreating the raya atmosphere. there was sarawak laksa, chicken, beef, rice, but no satay.
